What if I am already using an estate agent?
No Problem. You can still use Behoused as well as an agent. Using both will incentivise the agent to work harder whilst still giving you the opportunity to save money by selling your property yourself.
Check your contract however. A "Sole Selling" agreement means that your agent can claim a commission regardless of who finds the buyer. We recommend that you do not enter into one of these arrangements whatever your circumstances. A "Sole Agency" or "Multi Agency" agreement should not cause any problems although we recommend that you let your agent know that you will be trying to sell the property yourself.
The consumer rights agency, Which? have produced an excellent fact sheet that explains the different types of agency contracts and gives guidance on selling with and without an estate agent.
